Mary Cherrington, founder/designer
Mary has a lifelong passion for helping people live better through connections to their land, home and community.
From chicken keeping, edible landscaping and anti-consumer activism to implementing low waste gardening and watershed preservation, she is a believer that small footprints can make rippling impacts. She takes special interest in edible landscaping mingled with native plants. She believes suburban landscapes can have multiple uses: for food production, energy conservation and increasing biodiversity.
Biophilic design intertwined with the permaculture philosophy is her approach to the interior and exterior of the home. Nature can heal all; she empowers her clients to complete design changes in an easy step by step process.
In her free time, she is runs the garden program at local elementary school with a long time friend, visits innovative regenerative designs around the world, spends time with her family and enjoys her own beloved garden/homestead deep in the La Costa suburbia. She also relishes any time she gets to spend time at her food forest homestead in upstate New York.

John has been serving the greater San Diego, Riverside and Orange county as a residential real estate appraiser for over 20 years. He prides himself on accurate, unbiased value assessments and professional relations with all parties involved at each step. John works with lenders, AMCs, local businesses to complete mortgage driven appraisals and private inquiries including date of death, divorce, estate planning, and prelisting valuations in a thorough and timely manner.
As a realtor, he takes special interest in spotting properties with homesteading production and income potential which makes John and excellent agent for home buyers looking to purchase a property ideal for their specific vision.
John is passionate about helping people maximize their home value by sharing his decades of knowledge in the field of real estate appraisal. By focusing on smaller market trends of the improvements that give the most value to a particular area, he consults homeowners about the wisest improvements that will increase their home's value within their specific market.
In his free time, he volunteers as a soccer coach and provides short term rentals of their food forest property in upstate New York to clients interested in dipping their toes into the homesteading lifestyle.
